Memphis, Tenn. – On September 15, 2020, New Urban Superhero Does the Unthinkable by building a Fortress of Solitude in an Urban Community. Heal the Hood Foundation of Memphis is a 501c3 not for profit organization that uses the arts and media science to reduce crime and violence in the city of Memphis. The foundation is bringing huge names to support a never-before-seen facility that fights crime while producing Heroes.

In the midst of a pandemic and racial tensions that continue to be a dark cloud over the nation, “Wake” a new Urban Superhero with his all new comic book series does what larger franchises have paved the way for. Wake is a superhero pinned by LaDell Beamon, Founder/CEO of Heal the Hood Foundation of Memphis and illustrated by Comic Book Creator, Martheus Wade. This
hero not only has a different power set but is based in the city of Memphis where currently crime and violence are about to break records. Wake is the center of a brand-new facility that will be constructed on 7.02 acres of land in the heart of the Hickory Hill community. There has been an increase in crime and violence due to a tornado that deconstructed this area of Memphis, TN in
2008. Like Superman in the comics and movies, Wake builds his Fortress of Solitude which in real life is The Hero Empowerment Center. The huge difference is that this facility is open to the public and will be used to merge celebrities and the community together to impact lives.

Heal the Hood Foundation of Memphis has already reached over 480,000 youth since its famous Wake Up Tours started in 2005. Due to an increase in youth crime, HTH of Memphis decided to build around heroic concepts which brings in national stars to encourage, motivate and inspire youth to “Live Their Dreams” while reducing crime and violence. This new facility that is being
designed by RossWitt Architect Firm is showing amazing promise by housing many firsts in Memphis, that includes a 4D theater, urban roof top garden, Super Gym, Museum of Heroes, Museum of Hip Hop, MAW Productions Comic Studio, retail shops, Oracles Upscale Restaurant, a sound stage and many other attractions. The sound stage was inspired by Robert Townsend
and Keenan Ivory Wayans during a field trip to Memphis to help out CEO, LaDell Beamon and his quest to use his creation of Wake to literally save lives.

The Hero Empowerment Center looks to break ground in 2021 with the help our many celebrities that are signing on which includes actor Michael Jai White, R&B singer Sammie, Adolfo “Shabba-Doo” Quinones of Breakin’ and Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo and many more. HTH is launching the Help Us Build Capital Campaign. This campaign is truly unique as it is building its momentum from the ground swell of the community.
